Cougar Soccer Begins District Tournaments


Both the Boys and Girls Soccer teams will begin SIC Tournament play beginning Monday, October 9th at various locations around the valley.  The Boys JV program has qualified to compete in the 4 team JV Tournament beginning Saturday, October 7th, at Middleton High School.

Boys Soccer, under Head Coach Rhys Yeakley, put together a quality regular season and are poised to make another state tournament run.  The Cougs have qualified for the IHSAA State Tournament in three of the last four years, most recently taking third at the IHSAA State Tournament in Idaho Falls last season (2016).  Caldwell finished with a 8-3-3 SIC record and earning the #3 seed in the tournament, which begins Monday, October 9th, as Caldwell will host Bishop Kelly (#6 seed) at Foster Field at 5:00 pm.  No passes will be accepted during SIC Tournament Play.  Regular admission prices will apply to all.  Boys bracket is attached below.

Girls Soccer, under Head Coach Eric Garza, finished with a 6-7-1 SIC record and earned the #5 seed in the SIC Tournament, which also begins on Monday, October 9th, as the Cougs will travel to Middleton to take on the Vikings at 5:00 pm.  The first two rounds of both tournaments will be held at higher seeds, but the consolation semis and state berth games will be held at Foster Field on Thursday the 12th and Saturday the 14th.  No passes will be accepted during SIC Tournament Play.  Regular admission prices will apply to all.  Girls Bracket is attached below.

The Boys JV Team qualified for the 4 team District Tournament, which will be held at Middleton High School on Saturday, October 7th.  Caldwell opens up the single elimination tournament against Ridgevue at 10:30 am.  With a win, Caldwell would then play for the JV Championship at 12:00.
