Caldwell High is sending 13 to the State Meet, which will be held at Donna Larson Park in Boise on May 19-20. The Cougs has a good showing at the District Meet at Ridgevue this past weekend. The Boys team placed 4th overall and the Girls placed 5th.
Caldwell will be represented by junior Nate Griswold, who qualified in a team high 4 events. Griswold, who is the defending Triple Jump State Champ, won the District Title in the 300 Hurdles. He also qualified in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and 110 Hurdles. Senior Lita Forse, continued her outstanding career with District Titles in both the Shot and the Discus. Forse is the defending State Champ in the Shot. Senior Noah Rohrdanz won the District Title in the High Jump. Junior Juan Saavedra qualified in the 1600 and 3200. Senior Hannah Webster qualified in the 3200. Senior Alyssa Wheeler qualified in the Shot and Discus. Sophomore Zack Ramos qualified in both the Shot and Discus. Senior Cameron Manker qualified in the Pole Vault. The Girls 4 x 100 Relay team of Madison Shields-McLeish, Landaisha Johnson, Gabby Corado, and Charlene Zabel qualified for the State Meet. Junior Mark Sullivan, the defending 4A Pole Vault State Champ, injured himself prior to the District Meet, but qualified for State under the hardship and hitting state qualifying marks throughout the season.
