In spite of a solid performance from Jacob Hernandez with 15 points, Caldwell fell to Emmett 73-51.
Caldwell Cougars Varsity fell behind fast after scoring a game-high 16 points during the first quarter, and trailed 34-30 by the half.
Hernandez broke away to lead Caldwell’s offense with 15 points, including six during the second period. He also three steals.
Corbin Beets put up two three-pointers and scored eight points total. Also contributing for Caldwell were Dylan Shields (8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block), Cesar Correa (3 points, 1 rebound), and Bradyn Davis (3 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals).
Caldwell finished the game with 16 rebounds (5 offensive / 11 defensive), two blocks and 13 steals.

Caldwell Cougars JV Win Versus Emmett (ID)
Caldwell were victorious against Emmett 51-33 on Wednesday with the help of Ceaser Correa, who scored 16 points. Caldwell Cougars JV grabbed the lead against Emmett (ID) on a two-pointer from Ethan Martin in the second period and held on.
With a 21-point second quarter, Caldwell broke away early and ran up the lead to 27-19 by halftime.
Caldwell’s offense was led by Correa, who scored 16 points, including nine during the fourth period.
Martin tapped out at double digits, scoring 14 points for Caldwell (6-for-8). Caldwell won 57-37 against Emmett on Wednesday with the help of Xavier Brown, who scored nine points. Caldwell Cougars Freshman clinched their lead in the third quarter on a two-pointer from Andre Rodriguez.

Caldwell emerged victorious 57-45 against Mountain Home on Monday on the strength of Corbin Beets, who scored 17 points. Caldwell Cougars Varsity grabbed the lead against Mountain Home (ID) on a three-pointer from Jacob Hernandez in the second period and held on.
Caldwell pulled ahead early with a 15-point second quarter on the strength of a 14-4 run, eventually claiming a 29-22 lead by halftime.

With seven points, Oesch saw his best shooting performance in the fourth period.
