Caldwell Cougars Varsity Fall Short Against Skyview (Nampa, ID)
In spite of a solid performance from Corbin Beets with 20 points, Caldwell fell to Skyview 55-47. On a free throw from Cayden Wright, Skyview (Nampa, ID) sealed their victory in the fourth quarter.
Caldwell Cougars Varsity finished the first half strong, scoring a game-high 15 points during the second quarter. With a total of 24 fouls, Caldwell was on the attack over the course of the game.
Beets led the charge for Caldwell’s offense, scoring 20 points, with nine points during the first period. He also contributed nine rebounds and one steal.
Dylan Shields made it into double digits, scoring 12 points for Caldwell (5-for-12). Also contributing for Caldwell were Jacob Hernandez (7 points, 1 rebound, 1 block) and Julian Rico (3 points, 2 rebounds). Shields was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 15 rebounds, one steal and one block.

Caldwell Cougars Freshman Fall Short Against Skyview (Nampa, ID)
Although Jovanni Rico put 14 points on the scoreboard, Caldwell fell to Skyview 47-34. Skyview (Nampa, ID) grabbed the lead against Caldwell Cougars Freshman on a free throw from Mason Perrine in the second period and held on.
Although they scored a game-high 14 points during the first quarter, Caldwell fell behind fast, trailing 27-16 by the half.
Rico led the charge for Caldwell’s offense, scoring 14 points, with eight points during the third period. He also contributed seven rebounds and two steals.
Damian Perez notched three three-pointers and scored 13 points total. Also chipping in for Caldwell were Andre Rodriguez (3 points, 4 rebounds), Brent Walls (2 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal), and Xavier Brown (2 points, 2 steals, 1 block).

Caldwell Cougars Varsity Lose To Bishop Kelly (Boise, ID)
Caldwell fell to Bishop Kelly on Friday, 69-54, despite Jacob Hernandez putting 12 points on the scoreboard.
Although Caldwell Cougars Varsity outpaced Bishop Kelly (Boise, ID) during the second half of the game, it wasn’t enough to reverse Bishop Kelly (Boise, ID)’s strong first half. Even though Caldwell added 19 points in the final quarter, they failed to make a comeback.
Great play from the field made Hernandez stand out, as he made 36% (4-for-11) of shots attempted as well as 40% (4-for-10) of threes attempted.
Julian Rico put up two three-pointers and scored six points total.
